About me
Hello! My name is Anne-Marie and I'm from Montreal, Canada, now living in the South of France.
I am a qualified English teacher (and a French and music teacher). I'm TEFL certified (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
I also have more than 20 years of experience as a live musician (percussion) and many years as a radio host which gave me the skills of a great communicator.
I've taught in Canada, Mexico and France. Teaching for me represents of course the sharing of knowledge, but most importantly it enhances my views and understanding of the world, because every student has something unique to offer. Learning a new language is the gateway to wider horizons and to better communication between all human beings.
As a teacher, I use the Communicative Approach (emphasis is on interaction and authentic materials), because I believe that language is a way of doing things in the real world.
I'm a creative person (strong music background, Film studies) and I enjoy using this creativity to produce fun, interactive and effective lessons for my students. I use music and movie clips, real authentic texts and pick subjects that interest my students.
Outside teaching, I have a real passion for climbing, travels and ice skating!
I hope to see you soon!
